Why did my landlord bring me my new lease and say that the rent increase will be $150 a month? Because of the unexpected heating costs from the winter, blah, blah, blah.
This is madness! He chose to own a rental property and what did he think, that he would not incur additional costs at times?
Why do I have to pay for his lack of proper planning?
I have been putting it off but I guess it’s time – I’m going house hunting!!
I mean really, why should I pay him $1,150 a month for a 2 bedroom apt?!
At the least, if I am putting out that much a month, it should be accruing some kind of value & offering some kind of write-off for me!
So needless to say, I have to get real estate savvy on the quick!
First I checked out
Homes101.net to get a feel for what is really out there.
And because this is completely new territory for me, I'm going to check out
Lenders Block,
Virtual Bank and
eTrade Financial because I need to compare rates and get all sorts of information on home buying.
I want the lenders to fight over my dollars and so I need this ammunition!
And why is it that when you are young & female, all most people have to say is “get a condo,” “you’re young, don’t buy a house, you gotta take care of everything with a house”!
And well, so? I want that experience. I want the yard and the garden and more than that I want to get a DOG!!! And I need a place where she can have her own pad and room to roam and where she can chill outside all day long if she wants to.
This is exciting!!
Stay Savvy!
